The Department of Criminal Justice Administration (CJA) offers internship opportunities for students who are juniors or seniors (with a 3.0 overall GPA) and Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or EMHS majors in our undergraduate programs. Students applying for an internship must have completed two semesters at MTSU.

Procedures

  1. To receive placement in the internship program, the criminal justice student may obtain an application from Dr. Harms, interim department chair.
  2. The completed form, along with a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, must be submitted to Dr. Harms at least 10 weeks before the beginning of the internship semester; so, please plan ahead.
  3. After submitting the application form and letter of recommendation, the student must contact Dr. Harms to set up a meeting to discuss the potential placement.
  4. After the student has been approved by the Department for placement, and they have been accepted by the respective agency, the undergraduate student must register for CJA 4300.
