MTSU Department of Criminal Justice
Welcome to the Department of Criminal Justice at Middle Tennessee State University.
At the undergraduate level, students may obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in one of three unique programs: Criminal Justice, Emergency Management & Homeland Security, or Law Enforcement. Minors in Criminal Justice Administration, Criminal Investigations, and Homeland Security are offered for non-Criminal Justice majors.
At the graduate level, students may obtain a Master of Criminal Justice degree by completing either a thesis track or a non-thesis track which instead requires successful completion of the written comprehensive examination.
We also offer a variety of Minors.

March 9-14 – Spring Break
March 25 – Annual Spring Networking Event, ACB atrium, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Students from all programs are welcome to attend this event which hosts more than 25 law enforcement, corrections, emergency management, and law offices and agencies. Come speak with practitioners in the field who are recruiting, filling internships, or just networking.
March 26, April 9, and April 16 – Family Violence Professional Panel Series, ACB 102, 1:10-2:40 p.m. This annual Q&A panel series features local professionals working in the fields of family violence prevention and intervention. Attendees learn how professionals identify, prevent, and intervene in cases of violence or abuse. Panelists come from diverse professional backgrounds including medicine, mental health, criminal justice, public policy, personal finance, education, and non-profit leadership. Child Abuse, March 26. Intimate Partner Violence, Stalking, and Sexual Assault, April 9. Elder Abuse April 16.
April 29 – Last day of Spring semester classes
May 1-7 – Final Exams
May 9 – Spring Commencement Ceremonies
